What would you do with eight units, four rounds, and no good options?

The Warcode is a 2-player sci-fi skirmish wargame with a lean ruleset and enough tactical depth to reward every hour you put in.

Somewhere in a sealed star system, three factions have been locked in a conflict none of them can win — and something from outside just made it worse.

A Skirmish Wargame with Real Tactical Depth

The Warcode is a 2-player tactical miniature game where two squads of eight units fight for control of key positions across a sci-fi battlefield.

Every variable on the board — map layout, event cards, your opponent's ammo state — unfolds differently each time you sit down.

Four Factions. Pick Your Reason to Fight.

Forged from one. Fight as an army.

MDR

Clones of a single commander. Absolute coordination, no weak links, one strategic mind distributed across eight bodies. Their strength isn't individual durability — it's synchronization. Command abilities and combined fire make them effective at range and in melee. Every unit's position affects what the squad can do next.

Coordinated

Precise

Adaptable

Mid-difficulty

They didn't come to negotiate.

Ulfari

Aliens from outside the system. A few of them destroyed an entire station without any warning or explanation. On the table, they play exactly like that: close the distance fast and hit before the opponent can react. Average armor, but high agility. Most dangerous in melee. Easy to pick up, unsettling to play against.

Aggressive

Fast

Melee-focused

Beginner-friendly

The armor is the argument.

PROTAGEN

Heavy suits, closed helmets, shotguns. Protagen Marines trade mobility for resilience, taking position and holding it rather than flanking or charging. An engineering faction that fights the same way it builds: no unnecessary steps, no exposed positions. The most accessible entry point into the game.

Durable

Methodical

Punishing

Mid-Beginner-friendly

The inquisition doesn't ask twice.

Dominium

The elite enforcement wing of the Dominium. One unit degrades the morale of every enemy nearby. Another amplifies the effectiveness of allies. Combat, support, and psychological control operate simultaneously. The most mechanically complex squad in the game. Rewards the players who plan several activations ahead.

Flexible

Combination-based

Deep mastery

What Makes The Warcode Different

The Warcode doesn't need a new edition to play differently next week. Ammo is finite, map events are known in advance, and gear dropped by killed units stays on the board for anyone to take. When you fall behind on VPs, you draw a hidden contract — a secret assassination target that gives you a way back in.

The Game in Play

We've run dozens of internal sessions and external playtests with players from different wargaming backgrounds. The rules are tight, the factions are balanced, and the edge cases have been found and resolved.

What we're bringing to Gamefound in September is a game we've already spent a long time at the table with.

The Map Sets the Terms

Every match starts with a die roll that determines which of six capture point layouts is active. That single decision changes the VP math, shifts which positions are worth holding, and determines whether the optimal approach is aggressive or positional.

Add the event card for the round, and the map becomes a dynamic problem — one that neither player fully controls.

33×24 inch playing surface

6 capture point layouts, randomized at setup

Event cards modify conditions each round

Terrain creates cover, chokepoints, and lines of sight

About the Team

RedMakers has been designing miniatures for years. At some point, building pieces for other people's worlds stopped being enough — so we built our own. A complete game system. A new universe. The Warcode.

Bohdan

Creative Director
The mind behind the game and the keeper of its vision. He shapes the tone of the world and makes sure every part fits together. The final word on look and feel.
"I didn't want to make another game about toy soldiers. I wanted a world you fall into headfirst  - and don't want to leave"

Margo

Art Director
Holds the whole visual world together — from concept art and miniatures to graphics and the campaign page. She makes sure everything speaks the same language.
"Style isn't decoration. It's a promise to the player, and we have to keep it in every detail"

Anatoliy

Lead Concept Artist
The first to give the world a face. He designs the characters, the factions, and the visual DNA before anything physical exists.
"Every character starts with one question: what are they afraid to lose? The pencil fills in the rest"

Vita

Copywriting & Editing
Guards the text  - clear rules, a consistent world, one voice. She makes sure no sentence ever gets in the way of the game.
"An unclear rule is a broken game. My job is to make sure no word slows the play down"

Alex

Lead Game Designer
The architect of how the game plays and feels, and of every decision a player makes at the table.
"You shouldn't have to explain a good rule twice. It just works  - and you smile when you see how deep it goes"

Ed

Balance & Scenario Design
Makes sure every faction has a fighting chance and every game tells a story. He tunes the numbers and builds the scenarios.
"Balance is when losing hurts, but you know for certain you earned it yourself"

VSQUAD

Map & Environment Design
Builds the battlefields  - terrain, maps, and the space where tactics come alive.
"The battlefield is a character too. It decides where you'll be the hero, and where you'll be the prey"

Oliver

Miniatures Painter
Brings the miniatures to life with paint. He sets the painting standard and shows backers what these models can become.
"An unpainted miniature is potential. My job is to push it to the point where you can't look away"

Artem

Graphic & Video Content Creator
Shoots the studio photos of the miniatures and edits the campaign video.
"People back what they can see clearly. My job is to make the first look unforgettable"

Olenka

Graphic Designer
Lays out the rulebooks, cards, tokens, and packaging. She turns complex information into something clear and beautiful.
"A player shouldn't have to think about design. They should instantly find what they're looking for"

Kate

Manufacturing & Fulfillment Manager
Turns digital files into a real product in the backer's hands  - production, quality, and worldwide shipping.
"The campaign isn't over when the money is raised. It's over when the box arrives whole and on time"

Vlad

Operations Manager
Keeps the machine running  - deadlines, budgets, and coordination across the whole team.
"Creativity only takes off when the ground crew runs like clockwork. That ground crew is me"

Roman

Marketing & Community Manager
The voice of the project to the outside world. He builds and holds the community and leads the campaign's communication.
"We're not selling a game. We're inviting people into a community that already burns for the same thing we do"

The $1 VIP Pledge

Most players wait for the game. VIPs help build it.

For a refundable $1, you get a direct role in designing a brand-new Squad that becomes part of The Warcode. Every player after you will fight with, or against, something you helped create.

As a VIP, you will:
- Vote on the theme of the new Squad.
- Work with the design team on its rules and playstyle.
- Join balance discussions as it takes shape.

When the Squad is finished, it's added to your pledge automatically — as a digital bonus on any digital tier or printed at no extra cost on any physical tier.

FAQ

When does the campaign launch?

September 2026 on Gamefound. Subscribe now to get notified the moment it goes live and to lock in early backer pricing.

What exactly will I receive when I subscribe?

A launch notification before the general public and access to early backer pricing. Subscribing costs nothing — you decide what to back, if anything, when the campaign opens.

Do I need a 3D printer?

No. Physical editions ship as complete, ready-to-play products. The STL edition is for players who prefer to print their own copies. Both paths lead to the same game.

Can I get extra terrain separately? Will STL files be available for it?

Yes to both. Terrain will be available as a separate add-on, and STL files for the terrain will be available for players who want to print their own. The terrain STLs are optimized for FDM printing.

How do prices on Gamefound work?

You choose a pledge tier during the campaign. If the campaign funds, your pledge is collected and your reward ships. Early backers always get the best available pricing — which is why subscribing now matters.

Will you spam me?

A launch notification and the occasional update if something significant happens before September. That's it.

Is this a miniature tabletop game or a video game?

The Warcode is a physical tabletop skirmish game — miniatures, a printed board, tokens, and cards played across a real table. The trailer was animated to show how the game plays, but everything you saw happens with physical miniatures in front of you.

What is the $1 VIP pledge?

After subscribing, you'll have the option to place a $1 refundable deposit to unlock VIP access. As a VIP, you vote on the theme of a new squad, influence its rules and playstyle directly with the design team, and join balance discussions during development. The squad you help create will be fully developed and released as part of the core game and included as a digital bonus on any digital tier, or printed at no extra cost on any physical tier.
